Voice Over Classes
Doug Jeffers has had an important and very satisfying career doing Voice-Overs, mostly in New York City, for more than 40 years. Doug will be holding a special series of voice-over classes in his Denver CO area studio in 2010.
Doug Jeffers has the skill and experience to coach you in your own professional voice-over career. With access to his professional recording studio you will learn to evaluate your own work while putting together your best voice-over demo. You can then use your own “demo” when seeking voice-over work for yourself.

Doug says: "Learning what it takes to perform voice-overs and deciding whether you should pursue this potentially lucrative career are only part of what you will learn while you study with me in my upcoming seminars."
In addition to a series of five, three-hour classes Doug teaches, starting on October 2, 2009, Doug can also bring his portable mini-studio to your location, for one-on-one lessons. These classes are $75 per hour, plus $25 per hour for round trip travel. Doug is able to meet where it is most convenient for you.
Whether you want to learn to do Voice-Overs for TV and radio, or narrations for sales films, or station promos (a very lucrative business), movie trailers, character voices for films and TV, as well as tons of other opportunities that are available over the Internet, Doug can help you get started. He will train you, tell you how to get an agent, and how to get heard by casting directors.
Most important, you will learn Doug's special techniques to strive for voice acting's most important virtue - believability!
Another very important step is to get into the AFTRA and SAG unions. It's true that union work is decreasing; all the more reason to join a union so you can keep more of what you earn while earning more in the first place! Doug will tell you what it takes to join AFTRA and SAG.
"I'll be holding the first of five small classes as soon as the class fills up for 2010 in the evening in Arvada, Colorado, near 80th and Sheridan Boulevard. Sign up, and I’ll fill you in on the other details." Here are the basics:
- The cost for the sessions is $60 per week for a three-hour class. The classes will run for five weeks.
- By the end of five weeks you'll not only have all you need to get started, but you will have material, training, and know-how to get yourself ready for a career in voice-overs.
- The worst-case scenario is that you will have learned that you don't really have the desire to put forth what it takes to become a voice-over actor. BUT you could very well know that this is the direction in the acting and/or recording business you want to go.
You are not required to sign up for the whole five weeks. You may withdraw at any time, paying only for the classes that you attend (based upon satisfactory payment of classes). If you do sign-up for the whole five-week program and you do not attend all the classes, there will not be a refund.
The cost for the five weeks is $60+$50+$40+30+$20 (i.e. each week costs progressively less), so that the total comes to only $200. If you pay week-by-week the actual cost is $300 for all the sessions. It’s a better value to sign-up for the whole six-week program!
